Nav's path to public life started with a belief that good government matters. After studying in Windsor, he began working in Oakville's auto sector. It shaped his understanding of what happens when people work hard, play by the rules and still struggle to get ahead.
He went on to represent Mississauga in Ottawa for 13 years. During his time, he served as the minister responsible for industry, innovation, and Canada's economic standing on the world stage. He fought for the auto sector through the first Trump tariffs and brought jobs home to Ontario.
He left federal politics to be closer to his family - to be there for his daughters. Then he went into the private sector, and saw firsthand what actually makes companies invest in Ontario, create jobs and stay here long-term.
Nav served at the federal cabinet table through the first Trump tariffs. He was a leading voice for Canada's auto sector and for so many industries that have been hit hard. He brought federal investment home to create jobs in Ontario communities.
He introduced the most comprehensive innovation and skills plan in over three decades. The industries and investments he championed are still keeping Canada competitive in a rapidly changing world.
“I grew up in the Ontario so many people remember — a place where if you worked hard, you could build a good life. I spent my evenings playing basketball after school, came up through our public school system, got my start in the auto sector, and built my life and family here. This province gave my family opportunity, and it shaped who I am.”
Rooted in Community.
Running for all of them.
Nav and his family live in Mississauga, where he and his wife are raising their daughters. He's watching the same province he grew up in fall behind. That's why he's running.
